Datum Weekly: Sale Gaining Traction, Tech in Asia a Success, New Events Added
Tech in Asia Jakarta was held last week and we have to admit, the interest of investors and data buyers is relentless. There’s a demand for data, and we’re now expanding sphere of data purchase to more fields than we originally planned for.
From micro-lending to shopping applications, data protection for largest vendors in the world (and one that have recently been in the news), to telecoms that want to award their users and stimulate them to use Wi-Fi more often, interest is there.
At Datum, we believe that the future of enterprise, and future of personal branding is data, from loyalty programs to becoming a platform where your daily habits can make you into a star.
We have updated our homepage to give you just a taste of what industries and clients are showing interest in Datum. Rest assured, we will make announcements as soon as both parties agree and launch the service. In any case, there are plenty of data buyers that want your data. We also participated in the Pitching competition which was won by two Indonesian and an Indian startup.
We leave Jakarta with heads up high, and enthusiastically look into a new data buying community.
Sale Update
At the time of writing, we’ve raised 14,598.941 Ethereum tokens (ETH), which translates to 4,356,178 USD. We have a healthy mix between institutional investors and private individuals who’ve shown faith in us.
BlockBali Releases Official Video
When one thinks about Bali, Indonesia — you would be forgiven not to link technology and startup mentality to one of world’s hottest tourist spots. Yet incubators such as Hubud, with their 3,500 entrepreneurs from 69 countries, joined by major public companies, who elected Bali instead of Jakarta for their incubators.
As such, the first edition of BlockBali, a blockchain conference was held in a different environment, one filled with enthusiastic international attendees. Seeing Bitcoin pioneers, who openly spoke about their investment funds of 150,000 and 250,000 BTC (not a typo)-focusing themselves on schooling and advising new generation of entrepreneurs only makes us think that we haven’t heard the last.
Datum had the honor of being the last presenter at the conference, with Roger Haenni giving a 25min speech after which about a dozen attendees came to talk.
