Early last month, we gave prospective owner-operators the option to pre-register their interest in running a Datum Network storage node. While Mainnet storage node operation is slated for later this year — you can read more about staking and earning rewards for storage nodes here — we wanted to let individuals try out our Docker image and provide feedback on their experience running a node on our testnet.

Starting today, you can download the Datum Storage Node Docker image here and get up and running immediately.

Storage Nodes in the Datum Network

On the testnet, node operators can get DAT for staking using the faucet. This can be done automatically — via the storage node UI — or manually by calling the faucet in the browser using your node’s wallet address:

https://faucet.megatron.datum.org/v1/faucet/dat/<your wallet address>

After calling the faucet, 2,000 DAT will be transferred to the provided wallet.

We’ve also provided a web-based node manager UI to help you quickly and easily check the status of your node in real-time.

If you’re also interested in using the Datum Network as a developer, you can refer to the Datum SDK documentation for more information.
