Datum Enabled logo is coming to retail products

Today we bring you our Wednesday Weekly later than usual, as we’re flying at 36,000 feet into Thursday, heading to a round of conferences which we announced last week. Head over to the Conference update post to see where to catch up with the Datum team.

The first news of the weekly update comes in the light of announcing the launch of Datum ecosystem. When we launched Datum, the original idea was to #TakeBackYourData by launching a mobile phone app for Android and iOS. Thanks to your support, our project is coming to reality not just as an app.

Thanks to interest from data buyers and hardware manufacturers, we are now forming partnerships with progressive companies that want to enable Datum on their devices so that the consumer can ultimately benefit.

Introducing “Datum Enabled”

Datum Enabled. These two words are to follow a growing family of hardware devices which are meant to ease your life. The exact mechanism of earning DATs by sharing data won’t differ greatly from what we announced.

Our first design win is going to be announced tomorrow, on Thursday 26th October 2017 at 9AM CET. Our second design win is to follow 24 hours later, on Friday 27th October 2017 at 9AM CET.

We thank our new partners for believing in us, and deciding to set their users free.

How Datum can help Hospitals

Datum can help to increase security over patient records and speeds up response and approval time.

Even though our primary focus is setting users free, we are getting many inquiries from businesses who want to protect their data. Recently, International Business Times just ran a story how Datum can help healthcare providers and insurers with their data, ensuring that their users, patients — are well protected. If you’re wondering why Datum presents an interesting proposition for businesses, time is of essence for healthcare services:

Such access also comes with granularity — meaning, the stakeholder can choose which particular data to share. In addition, the near-instantaneous processing on the decentralised ledger means that insurance companies can gain faster access to the information they need, and with the benefit of healthcare organisations being reassured that the retrieval process is authentic.

While we cannot name names at current point in time (stay tuned), re-read the article a few times:

Uploading data on the blockchain will ensure data retention across the decentralised network of nodes. All of this is encrypted using AES256-GCM with 256-bit key size for every 128-bit block, ensuring data integrity.

A legend joins the Team

If all things go well, on Thursday evening Central European Time we will introducing a new backer of Datum project. We can’t say nothing until then, but check out this tweet:
